About This Event
Supporting children with anxiety is a shared journey between schools and families. This full‑day professional learning workshop, brought to you by ISQ and Queensland Independent Schools Parents Network, brings together expert insight and practical strategies to help educators build confident, collaborative relationships with families when anxiety is impacting a student’s learning and wellbeing.
Guest speakers will include respected clinical psychologist Dr Danielle Einstein a leading specialist in anxiety and co-author of "Raising Anxiety: why our good intentions are backfiring on children (and how to fix it)'', alongside the experienced team from EdLinq.
Through guided discussion and applied learning, participants will:
- Deepen their understanding of childhood anxiety and its impact on engagement, learning, and participation.
- Recognise early indicators that anxiety may be affecting a student’s school experience.
- Respond effectively and compassionately to parent reports and concerns.
- Explore practical, collaborative strategies to support students and families in maintaining engagement in learning.
This workshop is designed for all school staff, including leaders, classroom and subject teachers, wellbeing teams, and learning support staff, and provides a valuable opportunity to strengthen both professional practice and family partnerships.
Morning tea and lunch will be provided.
